However, season after season, we saw room for improvement. Cold weather often slowed transition times, and the limited tint range meant swapping lenses when conditions changed dramatically.
That’s why we developed ChromaPop™ Pro PhotoChromic—a revolutionary upgrade designed to perform faster and cover a wider range of light conditions. Now, you can rely on one lens for any brightness, without the need to switch.
Tucker White, the Goggle Product Line Manager here at Smith spoke about the inspiration behind this new lens, “We wanted to be the first in the industry to put color-enhancing dyes (ChromaPop™) and photochromic technology into a single lens. We wanted to create a “one lens to rule them all” which could be ridden in regardless of the conditions and allow the rider to set it and forget it. Focusing on their skiing/riding, rather than their lens selection.”
Specially Formulated for Cold Conditions
Our proprietary blend of ChromaPop™ dyes & photochromic technology is specially designed to perform in freezing temperatures. This winter formulation is designed to react to visible and UV light, not temperatures, so it can adapt to changing light conditions even more quickly.
